Canon PIXMA TS7450 Driver Download– The Canon PIXMA TS7450 is designed as a Swiss Army Knife all-in-one printer for home office workers, teachers, busy households – or anyone who needs to scan and use many copies of documents quickly.

The ability to simultaneously scan and print documents, plus printing and copying from two sides of the same sheet, will undoubtedly be appreciated by anyone with multiple copies of newsletters, pamphlets, or programs. It can print on A4 paper and A5, B5, and ANSI Letter sizes.

With Canon’s 560 and 561 black and color ink cartridges, the Canon PIXMA TS7450 is fairly cheap to run, but as always, it’s more economical to buy the larger 560XL and 561XL cartridges.

TS7450 Design and Features

The Canon PIXMA TS7450 packs a lot of features into a squat gray and black plastic cube measuring 206 x 403 x 364mm. This model (in black) is sold exclusively by Argos in the UK; all other versions (designated TS7451) are white.

The document feeder holds up to 35 A4 sheets, while the rear hopper is specially designed for glossy photo paper, with up to 20 sheets. If you print on standard paper, it can hold 100 A4 sheets.

Below is a section you need to access to replace ink cartridges or clear paper jams. At the base is another paper input tray, which can hold up to 100 sheets of plain A4.

On the front, you’ll find a small 1.4-inch OLED display, which allows you to connect to your home network by manually entering your SSID password. You can perform more mundane tasks from here, such as running maintenance prints and checking ink levels.

Here you can also change settings for copying documents, whether you want the PIXMA TS7450 to scan one or both sides of a document, whether you want a color or black and white copy and whether you want to print single-sided or double-sided.

Given all the print, scan and copy power on display here, it should be no surprise to learn that the PIXMA TS7450 is quite heavy. At 8.2kg, it’s not a device you can easily drag around your office.

I found the printer installation to be a simple and quick process. Once the cartridges are installed, the PIXMA TS7450 only needs two A4 sheets to calibrate everything. This process took about five minutes, after which I could connect the printer to my Wi-Fi network.

The Canon Print Inkjet/SELPHY app (iOS, Android) connects to the printer from phones and tablets, allowing you to queue print jobs wirelessly. This is best used for spooling text documents or non-photographic images.

It’s fine for printing documents, although I could not get auto-duplexing to work successfully – stick to a desktop computer for this. It’s less good at printing photos: while it’s possible to select different paper stocks and choose whether you want a white border on your prints, you don’t get much in the way of customization.

You’ll need to download the Easy-PrintPhoto Editor (iOS, Android) app, which offers many more options for customizing photo prints, including Valentine’s Day card templates, calendars, and passport photos.

The printer also works with the Mopira Print app (Android), which allows you to print images from your phone’s gallery by tapping the Share icon and selecting Mopira Print from the options. I couldn’t see a preview mode here, but this quick way to get the PIXMA TS7450 content to print directly from your phone with minimal hassle.

Windows desktop and laptop users should visit the Canon site to download the relevant drivers. Mac users don’t need to install drivers, as the PIXMA TS7450 is AirPrint compatible. Once you’ve connected the printer to your Wi-Fi network, go to System Preferences, Printers & Scanners, and add it to your list of devices.

The Canon PIXMA TS7450 is reasonably fast when it comes to printing small runs of text documents. By manually timing the print speeds, I found that single pages of text were printed in about 9 seconds, while longer runs of five pages took 31.57 seconds (9.5 ppm). My 20-page document test file took 1 minute and 41 seconds (11.83 ppm) to finish printing.

It takes under a minute (57.7 seconds) to print a color photo on A4 plain paper and about 25 seconds to print a photo on glossy 10 x 15 mm (4 x 6 in).

The print quality of documents is high. Even with 10-point text, despite being very rich, I couldn’t see any obvious bleeding or distortion. Flat colors and graphics printed on plain paper look solid and vibrant. The photo quality on plain paper isn’t that impressive – prints are super detailed, but natural colors and skin tones look a little washed out. If you want your photos to shine, you should invest in solid glossy paper, such as Canon’s GP-501. Snaps printed on glossy paper look both detailed and beautiful.

The cost of ownership is typical for a cartridge-based printer of this type. If you’re looking for a lower cost and want a cheap color printer to run, then you should consider the Epson ET-2720 instead.
